Recommendations for good practices in the administration and financial management of small projects

The manual with “Recommendations for good practices in the administration and financial management of small projects” is the result of the experience of the Institute for Society, Population and Nature– ISPN in the Coordination of the Small Grants Program (PPP-ECOS) since 1994, and has as its target audience organizations starting their experience in implementation of projects with financial support from government sources and/or national or international donors. The publication offers practical guidance and instructional examples on planning, management and reporting for small projects.

The Manual of Sanitary, Environmental and Tax Regulations: regularization of community agro-industries of products from sustainable use of biodiversity, organized by Luís Carraza, delivers an extensive survey of the relevant legislation on the production process of family agriculture and for traditional peoples and communities. It is aimed at organizations that work with production and commercialization of products developed from the sustainable use of biodiversity, providing guidance through the main steps that should be followed for the formalization of community projects that wish to insert products in different types of markets.

Technological Manuals

The collection Sustainable Technologies in the Cerrado presents two publications: the “Technological Manual for Integral Processing of Pequi” and the “Technological Manual for Integral Processing of Baru”. The series, by Luís Carrazza and João Carlos Cruz e Ávila was developed from community experiences of the sustainable use of the biome’s biodiversity, supported by the Small Grants Program (PPP-ECOS), in the scope of the FLORELOS project. With basic orientations for extractivist soil management, main use of each part of the fruits, processing flowcharts, as well as orientations on good production practices, the manuals are directed at communities and organizations that are starting or that wish to qualify their activities in the sustainable integral processing of the Cerrado’s fruits.

New Small Grants Program catalogue

In this publication it is possible to find the Brazilian products supported by PPP-ECOS selected to be part of the Small Grants Program Catalog (SGP) from Latin America and the Caribbean – a program which the PPP-ECOS is a part of. This material, produced by the SGP Coordination, shows products of the entire region and is being divulged around the world. Soon there will be a Spanish version available.
